As we embrace the holiday season, we want to take a moment to reflect on this time of year and extend our heartfelt thanks to all of you. From our team at Sovereignty Food Safety to you and yours, we wish you a Merry Christmas filled with warmth, joy, and, of course, incredible food.
We know it’s been a little quiet around here lately. We apologize for the lack of posts and updates, but as many of you know, this time of year keeps us incredibly busy with holiday banquets, catering events, and the important work of keeping the masses fed. We’ve been working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure everyone enjoys delicious, safe meals this holiday season.
As we wrap up this busy year, we want to take a moment to congratulate all of you who participated in deer season! Whether you bagged a big one or simply enjoyed the outdoors, this time of year is all about harvest and the bounty that nature provides. From wild game to fresh seasonal produce, there’s so much to be grateful for, especially when it comes to preserving and preparing those items for the months ahead.
For those of us in Florida, now is the perfect time to start thinking about your garden. If you haven’t already, it’s time to get those seeds started and plants in the ground! The warm, sunny Florida climate is ideal for planting a variety of crops, from leafy greens to tomatoes, peppers, and herbs. There’s no better way to enjoy the fresh flavors of the season than by growing your own food. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just getting started, the effort you put into your garden now will pay off with a bountiful harvest.
For Florida gardeners, January is an excellent time to plant crops like lettuce, kale, and broccoli. The cool weather makes it the perfect opportunity to get these vegetables into the ground. Whether you’re in North, Central, or South Florida, adjusting your planting times to suit your region will set you up for a successful season.
We’re excited to be back in the new year with fresh classes, tips, and resources to help you continue mastering the art of cooking, food safety, and food preservation. Whether you’re interested in canning, fermenting, or just making the most of your harvest, we’re here to support you every step of the way.
Thank you for being part of the Sovereignty Food Safety community. We wish you all a joyful, peaceful holiday season and look forward to what’s to come in the new year.
Happy Holidays,
Chef Chris Galipeau
